EAGLE CREEK V.E.S. PLACES DONATED AMBULANCE INTO SERVICE
Eagle Creek, August 1st, 2012 - Chief Ed Schriber, EMS Director Shirley Schriber, and ECVES President Paul Schlogel are pleased to announce that a donated ambulance, Ambulance 1254, has been placed into service. Obtained from Community Volunteer Fire Department, the ambulance is in excellent condition and will be serving as the primary unit for the service area.

Emergency medical services were organized in April of 1999. In May of 2000, the Eagle Creek Volunteer Fire Department charter was amended. The amendment changed the name of the corporation to Eagle Creek Volunteer Emergency Services to support the change in mission by offering emergency medical services in addition to fire suppression services.
ABOUT EAGLE CREEK VOLUNTEER EMERGENCY SERVICES
Eagle Creek Volunteer Emergency Services (ECVES) is a 501 (3) (c) not for profit corporation serving the western area of Wilson County, Texas. The corporation was initially established as Eagle Creek Volunteer Fire Department on October 30th, 1993, but organized and started serving the community in November 1992.
Ambulance 1254 is registered with the Texas Department of State Health Services as a BLS (Basic Life Support) unit with MICU (Mobile Intensive Care Unit) capability. The ambulance will be the primary unit for ECVES coverage area. Ambulance 1253 will become the secondary unit, replacing the decommissioned Ambulance 1252. ECVES now has two operational ambulances for 911 response to support nearly 17,000 residents in the western part of Wilson County.
Ambulance 1254 is a Type I Frazier ambulance that is built on a 2006 Chevrolet 3500 chassis. The ambulance has a diesel engine and contains an on-board Onan generator. The ambulance is a substantial asset to the service area and the county. It was acquired at minimal cost to Eagle Creek Volunteer Emergency Services (ECVES). ECVES made a capital investment of $10.00 to cover the transfer of the ambulance with approximately an additional $500.00 for operational readiness (installation of communication equipment, adding department logos, and medical supplies). All costs were covered solely by ECVES.
